Keep the correct instructions nearby

Keep the assembly manual, model and serial identifiers, and records of replacement pedals or seat parts together. In a shared household, assign one person to track scheduled inspections while all users report changed operation. Record dates, observed symptoms and actual parts replaced. Begin with contact points and adjustment locks

Before use, look for visibly loose, damaged or displaced parts and confirm the bike is set up as its manual requires. Do not invent a lubrication routine

Treat changed operation as useful evidence

Record when a new noise, wobble or resistance inconsistency appears, whether it follows a move or adjustment, and which user notices it. Photos or a short recording can help support identify the area involved. Avoid disassembling guarded parts without the relevant procedure. Plan for replacement parts before they are urgent
