Start with the move you actually need
Write down why the storage must move and how often. A unit that shifts for occasional cleaning has different requirements from one moved out of a guest-room closet three times a week. Trace the route at floor level

Plan the move when the path is clear of children, pets, and other users. Move with control and stop if the unit behaves unexpectedly. Follow the manufacturer's instructions about unloading rather than trying to overcome a threshold with extra force.
Make the parked state obvious
Set the unit in its intended stationary configuration before selecting or lifting weights. Apply any locking or stabilizing features as directed.
