Identify the surface before opening a bottle

Find the full model identifier and the applicable manual, especially if the machine was bought used. A replacement belt or deck may also change which instructions apply. If the service history is unclear, ask the manufacturer before treating it.

Separate time, mileage and reminders

For the silicone systems covered by its instructions, Horizon specifies lubrication every three months or 150 miles, while describing a LUBE reminder at 300 miles. Record the date, mileage, approved product and amount, and any adjustment made under the procedure. Note the next due interval. If a technician replaces the belt or deck, update the machine's service record with the new surface and its care requirements.

Use the specified product and quantity

An approved lubricant is a material specification, not an invitation to use any slippery household product. Verify the formulation and amount in the instructions. More is not automatically better, and lubricant belongs only where the manufacturer directs. Keep it away from the walking surface, electrical components and surrounding flooring. If the method requires loosening the belt, record the manufacturer's adjustment procedure before beginning rather than guessing how to restore tension afterward.

Prepare a controlled maintenance session

Read the complete procedure first, including how the machine must be powered down and disconnected before hands enter the belt area. Gather the specified materials and protect nearby surfaces as directed. Some instructions include a separate powered distribution step after application; perform that only in the manner described. Do not use lubrication to explain every fault

Slipping, scraping, a burning smell or an unusual sound can have causes other than a dry deck. Repeatedly adding lubricant may delay a necessary inspection and create another problem. Stop and use the manufacturer's troubleshooting route when operation changes unexpectedly. Describe when the symptom occurs and what maintenance was performed. A short factual record is more useful than a confident diagnosis based solely on how the noise sounds.

Clear the reminder only after the work

After the approved maintenance and checks are complete, record the reset with the service date. If a warning remains or returns unexpectedly, contact support rather than searching for a way to suppress it permanently.
