What is supposed to rotate

The sleeves carry the plates while your hands hold the shaft. Allowing those parts to rotate relative to one another is particularly relevant when the bar turns over during a clean or snatch. The assembly includes more than its bearing type: sleeves, shaft surfaces, clearances, retention hardware, lubrication, and seals or shields all contribute to how it behaves.

That is why two bars described as bearing bars can feel different. A listing that gives only a bearing count leaves substantial information missing. More components do not prove better fit, cleaner machining, or better service support.

Where bushings make sense

Look at shaft diameter, grip pattern, and starting mass at the same time; rotation is one part of the product's purpose.

Do not assume that every bar containing bearings is built for repeated drops. Impact suitability depends on the complete bar and its approved use. An inexpensive listing combining bearings with a large capacity number is still missing the details needed to judge long-term application.
