Multi-gym assembly and service: plan before delivery

Read the station sequence before booking the installer

A multi-gym can combine several cable paths and adjustment systems inside one frame. Body-Solid’s G6BR manual, for example, gives separate high-pulley, low-pulley and pec-dec cable diagrams rather than one interchangeable routing picture. The installer needs the correct sequence for the delivered configuration, including any optional station.

Match the model and revision to the supplied manual and addenda before scheduling the work. Ask whether the installer has experience with that particular multi-station design and whether the quoted service includes its accessories. A generic assembly-time estimate does not establish that a provider has allowed for the extra station or a revision change.

Resolve revised parts before the assembly hides them

Check the hardware and cable identifiers against the correct parts list while they are still accessible. Similar-looking pieces can belong to different stations. Keep any revision addendum with the main instructions and resolve a mismatch with the supplier before an unverified part is installed.

Make the handover cover every installed station

Agree on the handover before the installer leaves. Ask them to explain each supported adjustment and complete the manual’s final checks for all installed stations. The G6BR manual includes final cable-tension checks involving the stack, selector alignment and slack. Those checks illustrate why seeing one handle move is not an adequate handover for the whole machine.

Have the installer identify the applicable instructions and resolve abnormal operation before use. Record any missing parts or incomplete work and which stations must remain out of service. Request the completed equipment handover record, including the installed options and the provider’s contact details.

Leave access to the components that will need service

Before the machine reaches its final position, ask how a technician would reach the cable adjustments, pulley hardware and other service points shown in the manual. Check whether fixed cabinetry or a nearby wall would prevent that access after assembly.

Keep the station configuration, serial label and revised parts list together for later replacement-part enquiries. If you add an option later, update the installation record and complete the checks required for that new configuration.
