How do I keep a water rowing machine’s tank clean?

Identify the tank and its instructions
Start with the brand, model and tank markings. Water rowers can use different tank materials, shapes and resistance arrangements, so a video about one model may not apply to another. Locate the fill instructions and the support route before adding water. Keep any supplied siphon and treatment information together so routine care does not become a search for a substitute part or chemical. Position the rower so its fill opening, gauge and the floor below the tank remain accessible for care and inspection.
Read the fill gauge rather than guessing volume

Do not overfill in pursuit of a harder setting. A physical fill limit is an equipment requirement, not a suggestion to override when a different feel is desired.
Use approved water and treatment
For the systems covered by its U.S. FAQ, WaterRower specifies clean municipal tap water or distilled water and excludes well water; the same page warns about hard water. Apply that instruction to the relevant WaterRower model, rather than extending it to every water-resistance machine. Use the specified purification product. Follow the current guidance that applies to your model and location. A generic pool, aquarium or drinking-water treatment is not automatically interchangeable. Keep household chemicals away from the tank and do not combine products unless the manufacturer expressly directs the combination.
Keep a simple care record
Record the initial fill date, the treatment product used and subsequent additions. Note whether the rower sits in direct sunlight, because placement can affect the care guidance. A reminder is useful only if it reflects the actual manufacturer's interval. Do not keep adding tablets because you cannot remember the previous dose. Check your record and the instructions first, especially if another household member also maintains the equipment.

Treat cloudy water as a specific problem
Follow the manufacturer's troubleshooting instructions when the water changes appearance. WaterRower's FAQ contains additional procedures for existing contamination, so a routine preventive tablet should not be assumed to solve every dirty tank. Contact support if the instructions or applicable treatment are unclear. Describe the water used, prior chemicals, treatment dates and visible condition. Inspect around the tank as well
Watch for moisture around seams, fittings and the floor, and distinguish a spilled fill from an ongoing leak through the support process. Protect the floor using a suitable arrangement approved for the rower and floor finish. Do not continue operating a leaking or damaged tank to see whether it seals itself. Keep electronics and nearby power connections away from accidental spills during filling or draining.
Plan draining and storage in advance
Read the approved siphoning method and decide where the water will go before beginning. Have an appropriate container and clear route for handling it. Check whether the model's upright storage method permits the normal fill level and whether transport requires draining. Storage and shipping are different situations; permission to stand a rower in a room does not establish that it can travel filled. This preparation makes tank ownership manageable without turning ordinary maintenance into an improvised plumbing task.
