Match the instructions to the machine

Find the model and serial information before ordering parts or beginning service. A used machine may have an updated monitor or replacement components, so note those changes. Keep the maintenance page, relevant diagrams and your service record together. Keep the monorail clean

If seat movement becomes rough, inspect through the manufacturer's troubleshooting process. Dirt, a damaged wheel or another component issue should not be treated as the same problem simply because each feels uneven.

Give the chain its own interval

For home use, lubricate the chain every 50 hours under the referenced schedule. Concept2 specifies a teaspoon of purified mineral oil, 3-IN-ONE oil or 20W motor oil, applied along the chain with a paper towel and excess wiped off. It says not to clean the chain with solvents or cleaners such as WD-40. These instructions concern this steel chain, not a treadmill belt or enclosed bike drivetrain.

Record the approximate accumulated use and service date. In a shared household, usage can add up faster than one person's recollection suggests. A simple log helps the interval reflect the machine's use rather than the calendar alone.

Inspect the connection points

At 250 hours of home use, the schedule calls for checking chain links, the handle connection, fasteners, monitor-arm joints, handle return and fan dust. Check handle return and fan condition
